Before it became an emblem, the Laguiole was the farmers' everyday tool on the plateau. We choose ours from four craftsmen, right here.

In the 19th century, the Laguiole sat in the pockets of the Aubrac farmers: one knife for the bread, the table and the work with the animals. That is the story we sell: knives made to serve a lifetime, not to sleep in a display case. Every piece is examined before it comes into the shop: spring, fit, edge, handle finish.
Our shopsWe are Nathalie and Louis. Both hunters, both passionate about the Laguiole knife for as long as we can remember. Nathalie has been selling them here for more than twenty years; Louis did his first seasons in the same shop. We set up on our own to keep the story of this farmer's knife alive and to honour the Aubrac land it was born in.

Laguiole en Aubrac is one of the makers who brought back the cutlery tradition of the Aveyron Aubrac, which had died out over time. Local, hand-made production that respects traditional methods is part of its DNA: the company has its own forge, and its workshops stand in the historic area of the Laguiole knife.

Meilleur Ouvrier de France 2015 (Best Craftsman of France), Jérôme Lamic works in Le Nayrac, near Laguiole. His pieces combine noble and composite materials, engraving and sculpture, for a refined result. He works the finest materials and chisels steel by hand.

Craftsman, blacksmith and cutler in Laguiole, Robert Cécon makes and sells his pieces in his own workshop, where he offers visits and courses to make your own knife. His speciality: filework, and the pairing of wood and resin.

After several years working for cutlery companies in Laguiole, Alexis Jean opened his own workshop at home to pass on his vision of the knife and of craftsmanship, an art practised on a small scale. Starting from raw wood and reclaimed materials, he prepares his own handle scales for quality handles: selection, drying, stabilisation.

Really a lot of choice for every budget. I chose 2 Laguiole en Aubrac, magnificent double plates, hand-guilloché, in vine-stock wood and Aubrac wood, and the bees forged by hand too!! She gives us very good advice and explanations about how they are made and where they come from. I highly recommend it, and the value for money is very good too.
Great welcome and great shop!!! Nathalie gives excellent advice and really knows her subject. We only popped in quickly at lunchtime, but we'll be back very soon to buy one of her lovely Laguiole knives for my collection. A shop not to miss in Laguiole.
I bought a knife there a week ago and the welcome was royal. Louis and the rest of the team are lovely, their advice is spot on and they are very friendly. I strongly recommend it.
An exceptional place, with the full history of the Laguiole. The staff are very welcoming and pleasant. I highly recommend it.
